What this practice does
People pleasing often develops as a survival strategy. At some point, your system learned that staying agreeable, helpful, or invisible was safer than expressing your needs. This trauma informed somatic exercise helps you trace people pleasing back to its origin and meet the wounded parts of yourself that learned to appease others to feel safe or loved.
By working directly with the body, you begin to release the suppressed emotions behind the pattern and integrate the parts of you that were never allowed to take up space.
How it works
Through guided somatic awareness, you tune into how people pleasing lives in your body. You will feel into the tension, fear, or collapse that drives the response, and gently connect with the younger part that learned to please for safety or approval. From there, you offer yourself the presence, protection, and clarity that were missing at the time, so your system can learn a new way of relating.
What is a somatic exercise
A somatic exercise uses the body as an entrance to the subconscious. Instead of analyzing behavior from the mind, you work with sensation, emotion, and memory as they are held in the body. This allows patterns like people pleasing to soften and change at their root, rather than through willpower.
How to use this exercise
