Purpose

A guided visualization for finding your purpose

Created by Myrthe Glasbergen, MSc. — psychologist and founder of Beyond Psychology

You knew, once, what you wanted. Before the expectations settled in, before you learned to be practical, before fear of failure or disappointment or simply not being enough quietly redirected you. That knowing did not disappear. It went underground, into the part of you that still carries the original longings, the ones that were yours before anyone else had an opinion about them.

This 40-minute guided visualization takes you back to that part, to remember what you knew before you forgot it. The same work I do in sessions, available whenever you need it.

Many lose touch with their sense of purpose.

Not because they never had one, but because they adapted. They learned what was expected of them, what was safe, what would keep them connected and approved of. They became good at the life they built, and somewhere in that becoming, the thread back to what they actually wanted grew thin.

That thread is still there. It lives in the part of you that was curious before the world told you to be careful. That dreamed before you learned to be realistic. That knew what felt alive before responsibility and conditioning covered it over.

What this session does

This is a guided visualization, trauma-informed, following the same approach I use with clients in my practice as a psychologist. In 40 minutes, you slow down and turn inward, reconnecting with your heart and intuition and meeting the inner child that still carries your original longings. You remember the dreams and visions that once felt alive, and you gently notice what has been standing in the way: the fears, the blocks, the beliefs that said it was not possible or not for you. As those are acknowledged, space begins to open for clarity and direction to emerge.

Why visualization matters here

Purpose is not found through analysis. It is remembered through feeling. The part of you that knows what you are called toward does not live in your reasoning mind. It lives in the body, in the pull you feel toward certain things, in the aliveness that comes when you imagine certain possibilities. Visualization works directly at that level, creating an inner space where what has been covered over can surface again.

That is what this session makes possible.

A note before you begin

You do not need to arrive with clarity or a clear question. You only need to be willing to slow down long enough to listen to the part of you that has been waiting to be asked.

That is what Purpose is for.

GOOD TO KNOW

A guided audio session, available the moment you purchase. You can stream or download it, and return to it as many times as you like.

Find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. Sit or lie down, press play, and follow the audio. Headphones aren't required, but they help you stay with it.

No. You don't need the right words, or a clear memory, or a story ready to tell. This works directly with the body, not with what you can already explain.

Yes. Most people return to it more than once, especially when the pattern it works with gets activated again. It's yours to keep.

No. It's a practical tool drawn from the same somatic approach used in clinical work, meant to use on your own or alongside therapy, not instead of it when ongoing support is needed.

Ready to begin?

One session. Repeatable. Available the moment you need it — which is often not when you planned it.
