You learned early what you could and could not expect from the people who were supposed to take care of you. That learning shaped how you relate to yourself now: whether you can trust your own emotions, whether you believe your needs deserve to be met, whether safety feels like something that exists on the inside or only on the outside, in the presence or approval of others.

Reparenting is not about blaming your parents.

It is about recognizing that what they could not give you, you are still looking for, often in places that cannot give it either: in other people’s validation, in external reassurance, in the constant monitoring of whether you are enough. That looking outward makes sense. It is what you learned when the inside did not feel like a safe place to land.

This session takes you gently into the relational dynamic that shaped you. Not to assign fault, but to understand what you took from it, and to begin offering yourself what was missing: emotional presence, safety, the felt sense that your needs matter and that you can be the one to meet them. 

What this session does

This is a full somatic session, body-based and trauma-informed, following the same arc I use with clients in my practice as a psychologist. In 40 minutes, you reconnect with the inner child parts that carry unmet emotional needs, and you visualize the relational dynamic with your parents that shaped them. You feel and acknowledge what is still there: the emptiness, the longing, the resentment, whatever has not yet been allowed to move. And you practice, in a real and felt way, offering yourself the safety, validation, and emotional presence that were missing then. As that happens, responsibility for your own care gradually shifts back into your own hands.

Why somatic work matters here

Seeking external validation does not stop because you understand where it comes from. It stops when the inside starts to feel like a safer place than the outside, and that shift does not happen through insight. It happens through repeated, felt experience: actually offering yourself what you have been looking for elsewhere, until your nervous system learns that it no longer has to look.

That is what this session makes possible. 

A note before you begin

You do not need to have worked through your relationship with your parents before you begin, and you do not need to feel ready to forgive anything. You only need to be willing to turn toward what you are still carrying, and practice offering yourself something different.
