Unworthiness rarely announces itself as a belief.

It announces itself as something underneath everything: a quiet certainty that you are less than, not quite right, that something about you is fundamentally wrong. Before you have words for it, your body already knows. The way you become smaller in a room. The reflex to apologize for existing. The collapse when someone criticizes you.

This did not begin with you. It began in moments when emotional safety was missing, when attunement came with conditions, when the people who were supposed to see you simply could not. Your nervous system drew a conclusion from those moments. Not in words, but in the body. A tightening. A pulling in. A quiet decision that who you are is not safe to show.

That conclusion became a lens. The lens became a life. And somewhere along the way, you stopped knowing the difference between the wound and yourself.

What this session does

This is a full somatic session, body-based and trauma-informed, following the same arc I use with clients in my practice as a psychologist. In 33 minutes, you move into the body sensation that carries the feeling of unworthiness. You trace it back to where it first formed: not as a story, but as something your body remembers. You meet the part of you that learned, in a moment of disconnection, that you were not enough. You feel what was not safe to feel then. And you let your adult self step in beside that part, not to fix it, but to finally be there with it.

Why somatic work matters here

Unworthiness does not live in your thoughts about yourself. It lives underneath them: in the way you hold yourself, the way you disappear when someone looks too closely, the reflex to make yourself smaller (or bigger) before anyone else can. Understanding where it came from is rarely enough to shift it. The wound did not form through thinking. It formed through experience. What changes it is a different kind of experience: the actual, felt sense that you can be present with what is there without it confirming the verdict. That you can exist, fully, without first earning the right to.

That is what this session works toward, directly and through the body.
