What this practice does
Shame is one of the most powerful emotions shaping how we see ourselves and how safe it feels to be authentic. Often, shame begins early in life, in moments when expressing yourself led to rejection, criticism, or emotional withdrawal. To survive, you learned to suppress the feeling of shame and hide the parts of yourself connected to it.
This somatic exercise helps you meet shame with compassion, understand why it formed, and begin releasing its grip on your life.
How it works
Through guided somatic awareness, you are invited to explore how shame shows up in your body and inner world. You will trace shame back to its first memory or formative moment, feel the emotions that were once too overwhelming to process, and gently integrate them. As shame is released, the authentic parts of you that were buried beneath it can come back into contact.
What is a somatic exercise
A somatic exercise works directly with the body and subconscious rather than the thinking mind. By engaging sensation, emotion, and memory as they are stored in the body, suppressed emotions like shame can be processed safely and at their origin, instead of being managed or avoided.
