Recognizing the Limits of Traditional Psychology

Traditional therapy often focuses on the mind: on cognition, awareness, and reframing thoughts. That can be supportive, especially when we need language for what we’ve been through. But the roots of emotional pain often live deeper, in the body, in old memories, and in the parts of us that learned to please, to perform, or to stay silent.
